Re: title change? American journal of hospice & palliative care Regina Reynolds 06 Apr 2009 21:45 UTC

Rebecca,

This should be considered a minor change, as recorded on OCLC
#57519500. The changed word is beyond the first five words and was
considered not to have changed the meaning of the title. The record has
CONSER and NSDP authentications in field 042. The last library to update
the record was the National Library of Medicine.

#57519500 has been reported to OCLC for deletion according to information
in field 936 of that record.

I believe this is a good example of a minor change where the user is best
served by keeping all the bibliographic information on one record. Many
users might not even notice the difference between the two titles.

> Hi, all- would those experienced catalogers out there consider this a major title change, from _American journal of hospice & palliative care_ to _American journal of hospice & palliative medicine_? OCLC #21269606 considers it a minor change, while several OCLC #s, including 57519500, consider it a major change.
