Course materials explore the following topics: • The uses of the digital library • Digital consideration for current collections: selection and collection building • Metadata considerations: access, storage, preservation and rights management • Standards issues: metadata and content standards • Preservation and archiving • Internet and Web technology • Planning the digital project Additional Information This workshop is part of the “Cataloging for the 21st Century” continuing education series, which offers practicing catalogers instruction in bibliographic control practices that will help them continue to play a significant role in shaping library services in the emerging digital information environment.
