I know that Serials Solutions does not charge extra for this sort of thing. They only charge libraries for title lists that they have to maintain meaning if your loading local holdings, those title counts aren't included in the overall cost. In fact, the same is true of their "Freely Available" collections that you can activate (there are 7 of those collections in Serials Solutions).

I don't know how the other providers deal with this.

For those of you with a provider that charges per number of titles, how are
you restricting titles in order to stay under
a certain number, especially when choosing a whole package?

Our link resolver provider (SFU) charges by FTE, so there is no issue
with how many titles we have.

Wow! I am fascinated that so many of you are including your print
titles. Doesn't this dramatically increase the number of titles and
therefore the cost of the product? Do you have to watch closely to see
that you don't go over whatever your title limit is?

Thanks for the ideas!

Carly

lists of journals. We are using the EBSCO A - Z list but it does not
matter what platform you are using. Of course EBSCO takes care of
including all the full text in our databases. I have added all the
current print periodicals but omitted an historical collection. These
titles are in the library catalog and rarely used. The issue here is
whether this collection should be added.
