*Serials/ERM Librarian*

*Twelve month, full-time, non-tenure track position. *

*Reports to: Head, Acquisitions and Serials*
*Position Purpose and Scope: *
Under the direction of the Head of Acquisitions and Serials, the
Serials/ERM Librarian will work with the serials team to acquire,
implement, manage and maintain access to print and electronic serials,
and integrating resources.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
1. Works with the serials team to manage serial and integrating
resource records in the library's automation system, including order,
check-in, item and ERM records.
2. Communicates with publishers and vendors on behalf of the library
to set up trials, resolve licensing issues, and process acquisitions for
electronic products.
3. Negotiates and maintains license agreements and summarizes
information on access restrictions in the library's automation system.
4. Establishes, monitors and troubleshoots access for electronic
resources.
5. Maintains electronic records in the local e-journal portal (Serials
Solutions), the OpenURL link resolver (OLinks) and the library
automation system (III Millennium).
6. Works with serials team members to evaluate and improve access to
journals in all formats
7. Works as part of a team to implement an electronic resource
management system (III ERM).
8. Assists in serials cancellation and weeding projects.
9. Works with the serials team to help implement and develop
policies, procedures and documentation.
10. Participates in departmental planning and decision making.
11. Supervises, trains and evaluates student employees and staff as
appropriate.
13. Participates in special activities and projects as assigned.
*Required Qualifications:*
1. ALA-accredited MLS, MLIS, or MS in Library Science.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to use judgment and exercise initiative; strong analytical
and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to balance priorities, meet deadlines, and prioritize work.
5. Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative.
*Preferred Qualifications:*
1. One-year library experience in the acquisition and access
management of serials and electronic resources.
2. Experience with serials and electronic resources.
3. Familiarity with serials maintenance standards and formats.
4. Experience with an integrated library system such as Innovative
Interfaces Inc.
5. Experience with an electronic resource management system (ERMS).
6. Familiarity with trends in the field of electronic resources and
serials management.
7. Ability to organize, to work independently, and to perform
complicated tasks with minimal supervision.
