Sending an E mail vs Survey Monkey to do a survey
John Lucas 02 Mar 2009 16:57 UTC
Colleagues,
I am going to be sending out a request to many of our Ph.D. Candidates and other Graduate Students, asking them to tell me what journals they use primarily in their research to see if we are supplying them with the materials they need. I was going to limit the number of journals to 10.
QUESTION: Has anyone any idea whether sending individual e-mails with my questions vs a Survey Monkey link will get a better response?
I know the Survey Monkey looks more professional and possibly gives a greater impact, however the trouble of going there may not be what the individuals want to do.
Also, I plan to ask the people for their advisor and ask them the same question.
QUESTION: Have you asked this of your research candidates and if so, what other questsions did you use?
I know this sounds vague. I am just back from handlling some personal problems and still not thinking well.
With Best Regards
