Library Associates Companies (LAC) is looking for an exceptional leader with vision to be the Director of Bibliographic and Digital Services for a university the offers its students the best of both small and large academic institutions, both intimate and cultural, both personalized, and highly-advanced research. This position provides strategically-focused leadership, coordination, administration, and policy management for all technical and digital services, including acquisitions, serials, cataloging, special collections, electronic resource management, and the University's growing digital library program, which includes creating and overseeing the digital library collections and services. The ideal candidate for this position is innovative, has vision and strives for continuous improvement, and facilitates change through library-wide strategic planning, policy-making and the development of innovative services. Requirements:
* Master's degree in Library and Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association.
* A minimum of a combined five years of experience in two or more of the following areas:
o Digital library services
o Cataloging and metadata
o Acquisitions
o Electronic resource and serials management
o Collection development
* Comprehensive knowledge, leadership and professional contribution in at least one emerging area of bibliographic access, such as metadata or digital library services and systems.
* Thorough knowledge of the concepts of library-wide planning, policy making, and the development and evaluation of services.
* Leadership skills, analytical skills, creative and innovative problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to service excellence.
