Call for applications for the 7th IFLA International Marketing Award

UNITED KINGDOM, December 4, 2008 - The IFLA Section on Management and
Marketing, in collaboration with Emerald, welcome applications for the
best library marketing project worldwide. IFLA (The International
Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) is an international
body for library and information services and their users. The objective
of this award is to reward the best library marketing project worldwide
each year, encourage marketing in libraries and give libraries the
opportunity to share marketing experiences.

Three finalists will be recognized for their achievements. From these
three finalists, the winner will be chosen. The winner of the award will
be chosen by the IFLA International Marketing Award committee and will
receive airfare, lodging and registration for the 2009 IFLA General
Conference and Council in Milan, Italy, as well as a cash award of US$
1,000 which must be used to further the marketing efforts of the
recognized organization.
The three finalists will be announced in March 2009 and the winner will
be announced officially at IFLA Press Conference in August 2009, in
Milan, Italy.

The deadline for entries is January 31st 2009. Guidelines and
application forms are available from
http://www.ifla.org/III/grants/marketing-award.htm

Entries are welcomed from any library worldwide that markets library
products or services. Proposals essentially will display an original
marketing project for a library and will clearly present the benefits of
the project. The proposal must also identify the needs of the intended
customer. Applicants will be judged on the level of creativity and
innovation demonstrated and significantly their potential to generate
visibility for the library.

Emerald is a Gold Corporate Partner of IFLA and will be exhibiting at
the conference in August in Milan. Delegates are invited to meet Emerald
representatives at stand number 105.
