Re: Notating bound serials in OPAC? Kristen Fredericksen 07 Nov 2008 18:20 UTC

Hi Bethany,
We also use the Voyager check-in module. In the Voyager cataloging
module, we set the location of the title to our periodical stacks (which
only hold bound journals). Then we add a note to the holdings that says,
"Latest issues in Main Reading Room" (which only holds unbound issues).
The resulting record in the OPAC looks like this:

*Location:* CU: Mullen Library Stacks Periodicals
*Recent Issues:* Latest issues in Main Reading Room
v. 43, no. 3 (2008 Sept.)
v. 43, no. 2 (2008 )
v. 43, no. 1 (2008 )
*Library Has:* v.24-42 (1989-2007)

The corresponding holdings record looks like this:

*852*
	*0*
	*1*
	‡b cuml per
*866*

‡z Latest issues in Main Reading Room
*866*
	*4*
	*0*
	‡a v.24-42 (1989-2007)

    I hope that helps.

Kristen
