Good morning,

Our library is going through a similar change.  We will probably keep the
most popular periodical titles, as you mentioned, making it a fun, relaxing
section.  Additionally, it is likely those titles with graphics-dependent
material, such as art and design titles, will remain in current periodicals.
 There are some magazines in which having the pictures available in hard
copy are just better for your patron's research.
