We have had a "night study" area in the library for decades. In fact,
the library was built with one in mind, and there is a separate
entrance and it can be closed off from the rest of the library. In
2000 (or around that year) the area was renovated into a computer
lab. It still has 24/hour access and a separate entrance.

For the most part the students come to do work.

No. There has been some (unreliable) staffing by student assistants
in evening hours, but during the time when we are closed there is no
staffing. We installed an ID card reader at the night entrance and a
camera for security purposes.
