In response to Marilyn Carney's posting re. subscription agents, those
librarians who are not aware of it may be interested to learn about the
Association of Subscription Agents and Intermediaries (ASA).  The ASA
exists to promote the highest standards of service amongst agents for
their library and publisher customers.

The ASA has an international membership of over 40 subscription agents
and intermediaries (full list at:
http://www.subscription-agents.org/members.html) and, along with the
recommendations from colleagues responding to this listserv, Marilyn may
also wish to consult this list. By joining the ASA, members agree to
abide by our guidelines for best practice. These guidelines are viewable
to all through the ASA website at
