Job Announcement: Project Manager - Serials to work in a goverment library (Washington DC)

LAC seeks a Project Manager to work in a major government library in
Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of serials
records and experience working with an Integrated Library System.
Responsibilities:
* Perform quality review of all binding preparation and serials
inventory work.
* Plan and maintain work flow of binding preparation and serials
inventory work.
* Supervise and train library technician staff.
* Meet with Project Officer and Corporate Oversight Officer
regularly.
* Must be able to keep statistics and write progress reports.
* Ability to perform all aspects of production:
o Pulling selected serials titles from the stacks
o Preparing serial units for shipment to bindery
o Preparing computerized bindery tickets
o Creating and updating bibliographic item records and holdings
summaries
o Quality review of all pre-bindable units
Qualifications:
* Prior experience working with serials
* Knowledge of MARC format for bibliographic control
* Prior experience using Voyager or major ILS cataloging and
acquisition modules
* Prior experience with LARS or similar binding software
desirable
* Ability to analyze and identify serial patterns and records in
multiple languages
* Strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure with
strict deadlines
* Supervisory experience is desirable
* An MLS is desirable
* Able to lift 50 lbs
