Hello!
On August 11, we received notice from the Baltimore Sun that "due to
increased postage and fulfillment costs mail delivery of daily
editions of The Sun will end, on August 31st."
Instead, they are offering online access to the daily (Mon-Sat)
editions and a print copy of the Sunday edition, for a total of $3.50
per week. It appears that the offer is only for username/password
access. We are to let them know no later than August 27th.
Of course, I had questions, such as 1) do they offer IP access? 2)
is there a limit to the number of users? 3) is this really a change
meant for academic institutions?
I called the Baltimore Sun, and unfortunately, no one seemed to be
able to answer my first two questions. They did confirm that this is
for all subscribers, academic institutions included. I passed the
information off to our subscription agent, and they have no answers
as of this morning.
Anyone else dealing with this? If so, what were you able to find out?
Thanks,
Ken
