Greetings from cloudy New England!
We have broad categories for periodicals, e-journals, monographs, e-text
(electronic books), and electronic media. Funds have numbers attached
via our ILS based on the college's accounting system. Here are examples
of each of our internal fund codes:
Print periodicals:
Newsweek (print) P-GEN (periodicals General fund)
Physics Today (print) P-PHY (Physics Periodicals)
Electronic journals:
JSTOR (P-ELT) Electronic Journals (since JSTOR is multidisciplinary)
American Chemical Society Web Editions P-CHE (since this is exclusive to
Chemistry)
Print Books:
A Short History of Nearly Everything (M-GEN) general monograph; no
specific category
Mirrors in the brain: how our minds share actions and emotions (M-NEU)
Neuroscience book
Electronic books:
Our E-brary subscription would be M-ELT or electronic books/texts
Electronic Media:
Naxos Music Library; ARTSTOR
Hope this helps! Please contact me with questions.

Subject: [SERIALST] Allocations and fund structure
Aloha,
At the University of Hawaii at Manoa, we're interested in restucturing
our
selection funds. Would you help me out by answering a couple of
questions?
--What kind of scheme do you use to organize your funds (alpha only,
alpha/numeric, slector names etc)?
--What works, what doesn't (a quick summary is enough)?
Thank you so much for your time and energy to help me with this project!
