Re: Another question--Binding of Periodicals John Lucas 02 Jul 2008 21:31 UTC

Hello Wilma,

We have the Horizon ILS system, which SIRSI has bought. We intend (or at least it was) to migrate to SIRSI. Not being familiar with SIRSI, if you have the acquisitions module, create one purchase order for your binder and each month add their current invoice and pay.

This is what we currently do with our Horizon invoices and intend to do when we migrate. There is still paper shuffling, from my creating the Purchase order and print it out each a new one comes in, going down to our Library Accounting person, and then to the Institutional Accounting for payment.

Nothing is ever easy.

With Best Regards,

John Lucas

How do you all keep records for binding? We have a very arcane system that involves about six steps and lots of paper shuffling. Does anyone have an exclusively electronic method? Is there a way to keep records with SIRSI?
