Worldcat xISSN -- Web service for serials data
Eric Hellman 08 Jun 2008 22:22 UTC
xISSN, a new Web service from OCLC, is now available for general use.
With this tool, you can submit an ISSN and:
-- find out about any predecessor and successor ISSNs and titles
-- find the electronic ISSN for a print title or vice versa.
-- get current metadata for the title
xISSN offers machine-ready XML service, for easy integration into
library applications, websites, link resolvers, cataloguing tools, and
anywhere you need top-quality serials data.
There is also a human-ready demonstration interface, known as Title
History, which is available free of charge to all. The XML Web service
is offered at no charge to OCLC cataloguing members or any low-volume
users; and for fee to others.
