Re: Print Serials in-house statistics

Our bound journals circulate, so we have the circulation history in
the item record. We will soon be using the "in house use" function
of our Millennium OPAC to supplement the circulation data for bound volumes.
We don't circulate our loose periodical issues, but we gather
in-house use stats for them into a separate database. There's a
barcode on the shelf for the title, which gets scanned every time a
loose issue is reshelved. That data is combined with OPAC
circulation data. The selectors use these reports to make
cancellation decisions. We can also use the data to make decisions
about which titles to send to off-site storage.
