Continuing Resources Librarian

Eastern Kentucky University Libraries invites applications for the position of Continuing Resources Librarian.  The successful candidate will enjoy a highly collaborative working  environment and be committed to professional growth.  Responsibilities will include providing access to continuing resources (both print and online), troubleshooting access problems, participating in the library liaison program, and participating  in community and scholarly activities.

EKU Librarians have faculty status and 12-month contracts. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience.  Benefits include tuition waivers, family health care plans, choice of retirement plans, life insurance, 20 days vacation plus sick time, and approximately 15 paid university holidays.

Required Qualifications:  Required: ALA-accredited master's degree (completed or anticipated completion by August 2008).

Desired Qualifications:  Experience working with continuing resources; familiarity with link resolvers (SFX) and ILS systems (Voyager); familiarity with cataloging standards; and awareness of trends and emerging technologies in electronic resource management.

Eastern Kentucky University is located in Richmond, a city of more than 30,000 located on the southern edge of the Bluegrass Region. The area is one of the fastest growing in Kentucky, has excellent schools and health facilities, and provides abundant cultural and recreational opportunities. Richmond is 25 miles from Lexington and about 100 miles from Louisville and Cincinnati.
