Subject: Standard & Poor's Directories to replace Stock Market
Encyclopedia

Hi,

After just receiving an invoice from S&P for a product we don't have
with no
information, I had to call and get the scoop. They say that this "S&P
Directories" will replace the Stock Market Encyclopedia. They weren't
able
to give an ISSN and didn't know if a record was in OCLC or not. I'm not
sure I'm finding anything in OCLC, b/c (as you know) the title it's
called
on the invoice can be a little different from the real title. Does
anyone
know anything about this, especially the record number or ISSN for this
new
"S&P Directories"?

Thanks!

Mykie

We were given a ST-200 a couple of years ago when they System purchased
=
a
large amount of microfilm. The machine works well when using the =
classic
mode, with good detail. =20

Most of our patrons won't use it, because of the time factor. With our
older microfilm reader/printers they can find the obituaries they are
looking for, and quickly print out the image. With the ST-200, the film
scrolling is slower, the base image is smaller, and the scans are much
slower then the non-digital copying. Those patrons who are serious =
about
their work, and have a large amount of images to make are more likely to
=
use
the ST-200, since they can then burn them onto their CD-RW or thumb =
drive
and view them in high detail at home later.=20

Earlier there was a problem with the software, and people would work for
several hours, have numerous images ready, and when they tried to burn =
them
onto their CD or thumb drive, the program would crash, losing all the =
work.
This has not occurred lately, but has caused me to be extremely =
cautious. I
advise all our users to use CD-RWs or thumb drives, and save their work
frequently. =20
