Library Associates Companies LAC is seeking a full-time Assistant
Project Manager to assist an on-site Project Manager in collection
maintenance operations in a government Law Library in Washington, DC.
The Assistant Project Manager shall work a 40 hour week schedule to meet
the operational needs of the Law Library, to include evening and
Saturday work. The anticipated duration of the project is from July 14,
2008 to April 18, 2009.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Review the work of others in such activities as routines
involved in circulation and retrieval issues related to legal serials
and monographs published in various languages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* At least six months working in a law library of over 500,000
volumes.
* Experience working in two or more areas of Stack Services,
Shifting, Pin and Linking, Government documents & transfers,
Classification systems (Library of Congress) and Library of Congress
Integrated Library System.
* Knowledge of one foreign language preferable in such languages
as Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese,
Latin, Polish, Russian, Spanish or Vietnamese and the ability to use
Romanization tables (as applicable).
* Prior supervisory experience highly desirable.
