Re: Posters in periodicals DAVIS, ROGER 02 Apr 2008 19:21 UTC

Jodi,

I will leave them in and put them on the current shelves. If they are still there when binding time comes around then I make a decision on whether they should go in a pocket in the bound volume. This determination is based on the content of the poster. If it has lasting importance it may stay in the bound issue. If it is dated material such as a conference session announcement, it doesn't get bound.

Best regards,

Roger Davis

Subject: [SERIALST] Posters in periodicals

Just out of curiosity........when a magazine/journal comes with a poster included within the pages (eg. March issue of English Journal), do you leave it in, or take it out? We have always just left them in, but I'm wondering if some of them would serve a better purpose by being removed--especially the ones in education-related periodicals. Any opinions, procedures welcome. Thanks!

(I'm sorry if this isn't an appropriate topic for SERIALST; I just recently joined.)
