Re: Ingentaconnect problems? Laurel Sanders 23 Apr 2008 17:23 UTC

We have certainly had our troubles dealing with Ingenta over the years,
with IP's/IP entry and other functional problems encountered when
interacting with the Ingenta site. The staff used to be virtually
inaccessible, too. But in the last couple of years Ingenta seems to
have been really working on changing its attitude (one common to
technical support people, as I perceive it) that if you're a librarian,
you must be wrong. We have had a couple of good experiences with
certain staff, who have been diligent and persistent in ironing out such
problems, regardless of the cause. That seems to be the key-- to
connect with a helpful individual.

No, in my case, Ingenta actually said some of our ip addresses belong to

a different college farther west in Kansas. I had our systems admin
check this out and verified that they are not. Despite this, we cannot
set up an account. I kept getting the same woman by email that kept
insisting we were incorrect. It is a small number of titles anyway, and

I don't see much point in having that kind of headache.
