Diedrichs Winner of Ross Atkinson Lifetime Achievement Award

The ALCTS Ross Atkinson Lifetime Achievement (RALA) Award Committee is
pleased to announce that Carol Pitts Diedrichs, Dean of Libraries at the
University of Kentucky, is the 2008 RALA award winner.  Diedrichs has been a
long-time contributor to the work of ALCTS, serving as President in 2004-05,
as well as an outstanding professional contributing to our knowledge of
acquisitions, collections management, serials, electronic resources, and
preservation, just to name a few of the areas in which she has written,
spoken, and consulted.  Those colleagues who nominated Diedrichs described
her genteel, yet persuasive style, her willingness to mentor, and the joy
and energy she brings to all that she undertakes.  The Committee believes
that Diedrichs is exceptionally deserving of this award and that she will
continue to accomplish great things in the future.

The Award is sponsored by EBSCO Information Services and honors the
recipient with $3,000 and a citation. Congratulations to Carol and many
thank to EBSCO for making this award possible.
