Janie,

We just initiated a subscription to the Gold Rush ERM from the Colorado
Alliance;
http://www.coalliance.org/index.php?option=com_weblinks&catid=21&Itemid=
41 . It has a lot of nice features for a very, very affordable price.
We did not have a lot of money to spend on a backend product (we
struggle to find funds for databases!) and this product is just what we
needed to get us into ERM world without developing our own (which we
really don't have time or staff for).

ColoAlliance originally developed the product for their consortia
members, but commercialized it a few years ago. They are non-profit so
their price is based upon cost recovery only. There is not a single
feature we are personally missing from the other higher priced
competitors, so you'll want to get a good handle on what you can live
with. We are very happy with our choice.

Good luck.

Chris Ryan

Subject: [SERIALST] Products for Electronic Resource Management

Hello,

I would like some feedback from those of you using or researching
Electronic Resource Management Systems (ERMS). Our college library
consortium is considering purchasing an ERMS, and we want to make sure
we know about all the products currently available. So far, we know
about:

III's ERM
ExLibris' Verde
Serials Solutions' 360

Do you know of others? If so, would you send me the name of the
product? If you've come up with a non-vendor solution, I'd be
interested to know what you're doing. Also, if you be willing to share
a checklist of what you want an ERM to do for you, I would appreciate
it.

If you'd like to send me a message off-list, I'd be happy to compile
responses and send out to everyone.

Thanks very much,
