Older popular culture type journals question Sarah McCleskey 16 Jan 2008 17:21 UTC

Greetings,

We're trying to figure out what to do with our long runs of Harper's,
Illustrated London News, Life, etc. There is a movement afoot to try to
get these things out where people can more easily see them (currently
they are in closed stacks) and to purchase a copy-stand type scanner so
that pages can easily be scanned and stored for presentations or
whatever. Has anyone done anything like this? We're talking with some
of the teaching faculty to get input into whether these resources would
be used more frequently if they were more visible and more easily
scanned but I'd love to know how other people are handling them. At
this point I don't think online subscriptions to full runs of these are
a possibility.

Thanks for any information,

Sarah McCleskey
