Very rarely does a journal arrived damaged, and it happens both with and without wrappers. I get an empty wrapper (with tire marks, generally, and the post office's "Damaged in transit" canned apology :) at least once a year. I would say I claim an unwrapped damaged issue no more than once or twice a year also, and it tends to be those with a cheaper grade of cover paper.
