I took a serials class at Dominican University, taught by Jim Mouw.  I wasn't heading for serials librarianship at the time, but even at the time I thought it was one of the best courses I took in the course of my studies there.

question. If you have attended Library School, did you ever have the
opportunity to take a course devoted to serials librarianship?
Furthermore, did your program offer such courses even if you did not
