We have about 60 newspaper subscriptions (not all are daily).
A few years ago we decided to stop checking in those daily newspapers
which didn't need any special attention:
- we retain and bind
- we have more than 1 sub & need to distribute to branches
- we do claim within an hour of not receiving (5 direct
deliver dailies)
- title is routed to staff
The result is that we check-in 22 of the 60.
We found that this does save us a fair bit of time & we have had no
complaints from users or staff.
Every 1-2 months we look on the shelves at the non-checked in titles
to make sure they are still coming.
