Close readers needed for new rare serials cataloging rules

Cataloging rare serials according to AACR2 has been confusing and
problematic. A strict AACR2 description is often inadequate to
accurately represent the bibliographic characteristics of early
serials. To address the issues surrounding cataloging of rare
serials, an editorial team working under the auspices of the ACRL
RBMS Bibliographic Standards Committee has devised a set of rules
called Descriptive Cataloging of Rare Materials (Serials), or
DCRM(S). DCRM(S) is the second component of Descriptive Cataloging of
Rare Materials. The first component, Descriptive Cataloging of Rare
Materials (Books) (DCRM(B)), was published by the Library of Congress
in early 2007.
The editors of DCRM(S) are seeking reviewers who are willing to read
the text and provide written comments. The editors would like to have
all comments returned by October 26, 2007. If you are interested in
