Re: paper to electronic (package) John Lucas 03 Oct 2007 21:27 UTC

Hello Julie and all,

Our cataloger added to the 362 field

$aVol. 18, no. 1 (1993)- ; Electronic Only 2007-

We also have a Capitalized 500 note to stand out on our OPAC Display saying something like
ALSO AVAILABLE ON ROWLAND MEDICAL WEB PAGE - ELECTRONIC JOURNALS. ELECTRONIC ONLY STARTING WITH 2007-

And then there are the other good stuff in the cataloging record, 856's etc.

With Best Regards,

John Lucas

Dear Serials Folks,

I am sure that others have already run into this, so I am looking to take
advantage of your collective wisdom and not reinvent the wheel.

We have Chemical Abstracts in paper.

Then we stopped getting it in paper, but we want to leave the serial record
in the catalog because we still have the older paper issues.

Now we are getting Chemical Abstracts via SciFinder Scholar.

Reference wants a note on the paper record that somehow explains the fact
that we are no longer getting it in paper and that they can go find it via
SciFinder Scholar.

(We also have an ERM that we are in the midst of implementing, which takes
care of the SciFinder Scholar part of the equation, but I still need to
express what has happened in the paper record.)

Suggestions?

Thanks kindly,
Julie Moore
