Re: Cataloging Integrating Resources with Multiple Vendors Shana L. McDanold 25 Sep 2007 14:51 UTC

Chris,

At the BIBCO/CONSER Operations Meeting in May 2007, we were told a group
(headed by Peter Fletcher) had been established to look into creating
guidelines for a "provider neutral" record for electronic integrating
resources. These guidelines would be similar to the aggregator neutral
record for electronic serials. Lots of questions about continuing to
create provider specific records for integrating resources since they
would have to be collapsed into a provider neutral record once the
guidelines were established, but no answers.

I haven't seen an update about it since then. At ALA Annual, we were
told that a task group was formed to update the cataloging guidelines
(Appendix A of BIBCO Manual, Module 35 of CONSER Cataloging Manual).

Sorry I can't be more helpful. Does anyone else know of any updates?

Cheers,
--Shana
