Hi Rick,

My post on this subject bounced back last night because of the strange email address aliases of the my workplace, the EPA. Would you post to the list that HighWire Press is a good resource:

>From their Free Online Full-text Articles website:

   http://highwire.stanford.edu/lists/freeart.dtl

(List limited to journals published online with the assistance of
   HighWire Press)
HighWire Press is the largest archive of free full-text science on
Earth! As of 8/2/07, we are assisting in the online publication of
1,720,095 free full-text articles and 4,399,398 total articles.
There are 11 sites with free trial periods, and 40 completely free
sites. 239 sites have free back issues, and 969 sites have pay per
   view!

******************************************************

I frequently use HighWire Press to confirm open access (for some reason, journals don't always advertise that they offer their archival coverage free), get the URLs, and to obtain journal information like the Online ISSNs which can be hard to find elsewhere. I find their journal gateways easy to use, and again, it is easy to find those ISSNs! We need those for our link outs to Web of Knowledge, PubMed, and Dialog.

We are a science and technology library so HighWire Press has been a tremendous resource for me.

Thanks!
