According to Wikipedia, this was a monthly magazine published in Britain
from October 1933 - August 1963. The publisher was George Newnes, Ltd.
and it was edited by Frederick J. Camm. Perhaps querying libraries in
the UK would produce someone who still has holdings for this title.

Patron is trying to get a copy of a series of articles that
appeared in the Nov/Dec 1954, Jan. 1955 and possibly Feb. 1955 issues of
Practical Mechanics or possibly Newnes Practical Mechanics. There are
records for Practical Mechanics in Worldcat, but nothing more recent
than the 19th century, as far as I can tell. The series is about
building a model steamboat. Any advice? Thanks-
