We do not have a ERM. For our print periodicals, I maintain an Access
database to get an overview of the entire collection. It holds local
information that can't be easily retrieved in the OPAC such as whether
or not a periodical is current, ceased, canceled, or had a title change
as well as physical format, issn, local system number. I found it useful
in cleaning up the collection for duplications, for weeding materials
from defunct programs, etc. Its latest use was to easily generate a
report of current print titles I had loaded into Serials Solutions.
