HEAD OF ACQUISITIONS

The North Carolina State University Libraries, recognized as the first
recipient of the Association of College and Research Libraries’
Excellence in Academic Libraries Award, offers a working environment of
innovation, teamwork, and continuous interaction with students and
faculty to further the educational mission of NC State University. The
Libraries seeks a Head of Acquisitions to provide strategic and
effective management of the department. Manages a staff of 19, insures
fiscally responsible expenditure of approximately $10M collections
budget, manages vendor relations, assesses contractual agreements and
license terms. Required qualifications: ALA-accredited MLS or equivalent
advanced degree in library or information science; minimum five years of
increasingly responsible relevant professional experience; capacity to
respond effectively to changing needs and priorities; demonstrated
effectiveness in managing personnel, budgets, and projects; commitment
to fostering a diverse environment; outstanding written and oral
communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to
work collaboratively and promote teamwork among colleagues. Minimum
