We decided to implement this recently as well, but for reasons other
than those mentioned yet. We are no longer using our OPAC to catalog
e-resources, or to provide access to them either. Instead we rely upon
our A-Z journals list, and our link resolver knowledge-base to
accomplish these things (for e-resources). Just as we were changing
this, OCLC announced this new service and it solved the problem of how
to display our e-holdings data without cataloguing every single
electronic item we have access to. On top of that, we spend almost 90%
of our budget on e-resources so it just makes sense to let people know
we've got this stuff. For ILL purposes, there is no better way than
this to let OCLC know what we have available.
Like others have said, this was a pretty painless set-up.

We were partners in the testing and I agree that it is painless and
provides useful information not only for ILL but also for our librarians
and others who routinely use WorldCat. Our e-journals are managed
through TDNet and they have been excellent partners too.
Just knowing that by submitting through your serials a-z vendor, etc.
that the OCLC stuff gets done is great. The occasional update files we
get are quick to run.
