Pardon the duplication, I'm sending this to several listservs.
I belong to a Serials committee comprising of librarians from various
libraries from Long Island, New York. We are considering sponsoring a
program about "Open Access" and full text journals online. We would
appreciate any help in finding speakers. If you could take a few
minutes to give us your comments on the following 4 questions. Also, if
you know of anyone who would be able to speak on this topic, I would
appreciate their contact information.
a. How full-text are the articles on Google Scholar, DOAJ -
Directory of Open Access Journals, or Academic Live by Microsoft?
b. Are these articles peer reviewed and is the peer review the
equivalent of society journals?
c. Are open access journals archived and if so, for how long?
d. What are librarian's perceptions of open access journals?
Please respond to me directly.
Thanks,
Regina McEneaney
