07-024   LIBRARIAN - ADMINISTRATION

Reporting to the Library Director, the Information Services Librarian's
duties will include but not be limited to:
.	Developing, coordinating and implementing Library instructional
programs
.	Managing and supervising the Library's interlibrary loan and
document delivery service
.	Participating in developing and managing the library book, serials
and database collections
.	Maintaining and expanding the library web site on the SFBR intranet.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Required: MLS (Masters degree in library science, library & information
science, librarianship, or equivalent) from a program accredited by the
American Library Association (ALA) or similar accrediting body.  Minimum two
years professional library experience working in a scientific, technical or
biomedical library. Proficiency using PubMed search and Google search; MS
Word, Access, Excel, Reference Manager or EndNote; web site design and
management.

Preferred: MLS and an undergraduate degree in the physical, life, or social
sciences.  Three to five years working in a small, service-oriented,
biomedical or technical library responsible for interlibrary loan and
document delivery using OCLC ILLiad, & Odyssey, web site design and
management using Joomla!, experience using OCLC/1Cate or other linkresolver;
operation of Minolta PS3000-7000 series scanners.  Experience developing and
presenting traditional and novel library instructional programs for
scientific and technical professionals.  Experience designing and
implementing web database.  Proficiency using Oracle SQL or MySQL, Perl &
PHP programming, Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, MS Windows XP operating system,
Mac OS X operating system. Proficiency using Thomson Web of Knowledge
databases and using additional Google applications.  Demonstrated
understanding of the principles of network security and working knowledge of
Apache.

POTENTIAL HAZARDS: This position may require sitting at a computer for long
periods of time.  Will drive a motor vehicle on SFBR business. Must have
valid Texas driver's license and meet SFBR driving standards.

OTHER: This is a full-time salaried (exempt) position.  Foundation business
hours are Monday through Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
