The Coordinator for Electronic Resources is responsible for processing
the licensing and acquisitions of electronic resources for the
University of Texas Libraries.

This position will oversee administrative functions of purchasing,
licensing, and acquiring access to electronic resources including
establishing subscriptions, subscription payment, monitoring payment,
and other fiscal duties associated to electronic resource management. In
addition, this position maintains a working knowledge of various
electronic resources, issues related to licensing electronic resources,
and issues related to electronic resource management. This position will
also assist with duties related to acquisitions, such as electronic data
interchange for acquisitions processing, using an excellent knowledge of
current acquisitions vendors and suppliers. Supervise and train
personnel in the acquisitions department.  Perform microcomputer tasks,
including word processing, preparing spreadsheets and databases, some
HTML editing, and working with  the integrated library system. Other
related tasks may also be assigned.

The position reports to the Head of Acquisitions, Technical Services
Division. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Occasional holiday and overtime work may be required.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Library Science degree from an ALA accredited
graduate program. Two or more year's experience working with
microcomputers including the Microsoft Office Suite and an Integrated
Library System, preferably Innovative Interfaces. At least two years'
experience in an academic library working with electronic resources.
Supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with fiscal control of electronic resources. Familiarity with
the technological aspects of electronic resources and a working
knowledge of networked information resources and search engines.
Experience with the collection development and/or licensing of
electronic resources. Experience working in a dynamic, demand-driven
environment and the ability to work directly with others as well as
individually. Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated, to exercise
initiative, and to explore new methods of processing and managing
resources. Demonstrated ability to be supervised and to be flexible with
working assignments. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and
organizational skills. Two to three years or more of supervisory
experience, including the ability to motivate staff to be flexible and
dynamic. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff with
or without a technical background, staff in other libraries and vendor
representatives.

Salary and Benefits:
$44,000 - $50,000 annually, depending upon qualifications.  No state or
local income tax.  Standard state benefits package including annual
vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, retirement plans, and health
insurance options (comprehensive major medical, dental, vision, life,
and disability).  Deferred compensation and tax sheltered annuity
programs also available.
