Re: Bindery priorities/schedule Sandra Thomas 24 Jan 2007 17:43 UTC

We are contemplating changing binderies. If you know of any bindery
that covers the Oklahoma region could you please respond off list. The
only two binderies I know of are Heckman and Houchen.

Any information received would be appreciated.

We bind yearly (2006 is bound in 2007, etc). We are a small library and
our shipment goes out in the fall. We use Mid-Atlantic Bindery (ICI) and
never have had a problem (knock on wood). We do try to have more than
one copy of to be bound journals on hand, one loose on the shelf and one
for binding. I pick up missing issues on backserve.

I bind 2004 in 2006, except Lancet, BMJ, JAMA, NEJM which would be 2004
in 2005. Our (new) bindery picks up about every 5 weeks if I have
anything. They pretty much only do school binding during the summer, but
that's ok with me. I quit binding a lot of titles a couple of years ago.
