Electronic Resources/Serials Librarian
Clarion University of Pennsylvania
Clarion University Libraries seeks experienced, service oriented
librarian
with demonstrated knowledge of electronic resources management and
serials
control. Responsible for providing integrated access to serial
resources,
both electronic and print, including cataloging and database maintenance
activities. Reviews and evaluates licensing agreements with publishers
and
vendors, coordinates purchases, maintains statistical data related to
resource use, collaborates with library systems staff to establish and
maintain access to electronic resources by all necessary means.
Supervises
periodicals technician and student workers. Participates in reference
and
instruction programs and serves as liaison to selected academic
departments.
As a member of the faculty, this librarian is expected to participate in
on-going professional development and must fulfill terms of the
collective
bargaining agreement. To achieve tenure, a second master's degree or 18
credits toward a PhD is required. Required: ALA accredited MLS;
minimum 3
years professional library experience relevant to position
responsibilities;
ability to work cooperatively; excellent communication skills.
Nine-month, full-time, tenure-track position starting August 2007. May
include some evenings and weekends. Salary competitive and commensurate
with academic preparation and experience with range $40,599 to $46,999.
Opportunity for additional summer work possible. Reports to Library
