Series World: Evolving Approaches to Searching and Control
Date: Monday, January 22, 2007
Time: 1:30-3:30pm
Place: Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Senate Room
We will be discussing acquisitions workflows pertaining to series searching
and related implications following the Library of Congress decision to cease
their provision of series authority records.
Leading our discussion will be:
-Beacher Wiggins of Library of Congress
-Cynthia Whitacre of OCLC
-Celia Wagner of Blackwell's Book Services
-Kathryn Loafman of University of North Texas Libraries
After presentations by our panelists, we will continue with open discussion.
All are welcome to attend.
Our session will end with a brief conversation assessing the focus and
future direction of this discussion group. All regular attendees of the
discussion group are especially encouraged to stay for this part of the
session.
We anticipate a lively and interesting discussion and hope to see you there.
