We're doing a table of contents service for our faculty using an HP
Scanjet 630 that we inherited from a former director.  I think it's at
least five years old and it's starting to be a little cranky - the lamp
doesn't always want to warm up.  And I can't find a switch to turn it
off, so it's always on.

Firstly, should I be concerned about turning it off?  Anyone had
experience with this particular model and know of idiosycracies?  Anyone
recommend a better scanner that we can be looking for in case this one
dies?
