We use special issue also and in the enumeration field include v., issue, and part. We do this so that in call number and item maintenance the issues will sort together. For example Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery:
   V. 88 NO. 9 SEP 2006
   V. 88 NO. 9 SUPPL 1 PT. 2 SEP 2006

Subject: [SERIALST] Help with Parts in pattern

We use SIRSI/DYNIX. We receive some journals that come with vol., no. &
sometimes in parts. Can someone share an example of a pattern that they
used? How do you check in journals with PARTS???
