call for articles about eresources Wayne Jones 04 Oct 2006 19:27 UTC

The Journal of Internet Cataloging is looking for articles on all aspects
of bibliographic control of electronic resources, to be published early
next year in a double issue of the journal. Topics include:

- descriptive cataloging of eresources
- electronic resource management
- case studies of technical services departments' accommodation of eresources
- MARC records and metadata schemas
- classification and subject cataloging
- education and training
- A-to-Z weblisting
- federated searching
- OPAC records and display
- automated methods of cataloging
- digital repositories

... and much more. If you would like to contribute an article on any of
these topics -- or on a related topic not on this list -- please contact
the editor, Wayne Jones, wayne.jones@queensu.ca

BTW as a former serials cataloguer I hesitate somewhat to say that the
journal will be changing its title in order to reflect a broadening of
scope: as of volume 8, it will become the Journal of Electronic Resource
Description & Access, and will include articles on the full range of
eresource access and management issues, including all of the above as well
as acquisitions, licensing, ERMs, and more as well.
