POSITION TITLE:

Library Director, Library, Position 07-F003

THE POSITION:

Establishes effective communication within the library, leads and
motivates team building, and fosters a collegial and collaborative

working environment for both the Weatherford and Sayre campuses.
Maintains and monitors materials and operating budgets as well as

other resources allocated to the library. Directly supervises
librarians.  Envisions and implements services and technologies to meet
the needs

of a diverse academic community. Works closely with appropriate
librarians in configuring administrative functions of the ILS. Performs

scholarly activity on state and national levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

MLS from ALA accredited institution; minimum five (5) years academic
library experience; strong operational knowledge of

information technologies; a clear vision of the emergent role of an
academic library and information technology; capacity to work with

faculty and to manage staff and budgets; demonstrated awareness and
understanding of current trends in library and information management;

experience with new and emerging technologies including on-line library
systems, database development, and providing library support

for distance education; experience with administrative modules of
Endeavor; experience with metadata and its use in web-based
platforms.

ANTICIPATED START DATE:

January 10, 2007

SALARY:

Commensurate with existing salary structure.
