(SENIOR ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN/ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN/LIBRARIAN)
The SUNY College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of the Head of Bibliographic Services. This is a 12-month, tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, creative librarian with outstanding management skills. Responsibilities: Leading a Bibliographic Services department of three librarians, one professional, and seven clericals to provide technical services including acquisitions, collection development, cataloging, physical processing, preservation, and oversight of the automated library system. Qualifications Required: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program, professional experience in technical services, knowledge of current cataloging and serials practices including AACR2R, MARC Formats, LC Classification and Subject Headings, and OCLC procedures, strong supervisory and management skills, demonstrated communication skills. Preferred: Progressively more responsible managerial experience in an academic library, experience with library budgets, acquisitions, and cataloging, and the ability to work effectively with faculty and library colleagues.
