Librarian I, Spanish and Romance Languages Cataloger
Chicago Public Library
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited American Library
Association college or university with a Master's degree in Library
Science or an approved foreign credential evaluation.
Responsibilities: Under supervision, prepare original cataloging
records in Spanish and other Romance languages using LC Classification
schedules, LCSH, AACR2, MARC formats, OCLC, and CARL. Evaluate and edit
cataloging copy of OCLC-participating libraries for use by the Chicago
Public Library. Knowledge of Cataloger's Desktop, Classification Plus,
and Microsoft Office desirable. Attend regular meetings, workshops and
training courses. Assist with special projects. Perform related duties
as required.
The minimum salary for this position is $36,732 per year.
