We have received this issue. I show a combined Dec 22/29 issue as
no.7071 and the Jan 5 issue as no.7072. Looks like we received it and
the next issue within two days of each other.

I responded to Mary offlist with my Nature story, so shan't go into that
here, except to say the issue was published. We did receive it, after
multiple claims (for multiple issues).

Me again.
To continue (I had to attend a meeting), I just checked the stacks, and it
appears that V. 438 No. 7071 encompasses the dates Dec. 22-29, 2005. If,
according to their publisher, they only publish 51 times yearly, and this
year published a double issue at the end of December, then perhaps they
didn't have a Jan 5, 2006 issue. The issue is enumerated V. 438 No. 7071
however, and not 7071-7072. It could be that it was merely a mistake in
enumeration, since the next issue is marked V.439 No. 7073. To further
complicate matters, I have been following this LISTSERVs comments about
nature and in particular the Jan. 5, 2006 issue of said publication, and I
have never seen any entries about someone receiving this issue until now
(i.e. van Sickle). I would be interested in knowing what the issue is about,
and what is on the cover, if it's not too inconvenient, since the publisher
disavows all knowledge of the issue even existing. But who are we to toy
with nature..?(:0))
Comments appreciated.
:)Jason

If you look at the website, there is a January 5th issue. On the cover is
a huge flower and in large type (you'll love this) - Working Together.

Jason,
Despite what NPG says, there is a January 5, 2006 issue (vol. 439, no.
7072)! I'm holding it in my hand :)
AND..........it is listed on their website:
http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v439/n7072/index.html
I also have an extremely difficult time obtaining missing issues from
NPG. Often the customer service reps will reply that they are sending
the missing issue, but then it never arrives. I personally think there
is some sort of communication breakdown between the customer service
department and the group that actually sends out the missing issue.
