Re: two journals have same ISSN number? Shannon 20 Jul 2006 13:23 UTC

There are two ISSN numbers appeared on the journal of Trends in ecology &
evolution. It is 0169-5374 on earlier issues; 0968-0012 on the later issues.
My guess is that when cataloger updated the record (the title ceased in
1999), she put 0169-5374 in subfield y, but mistakenly added 0968-0055 not
0968-0012 in subfield a.

According to the ISSN database, 0968-0055 has been assigned to:
   Trends in microbiology (Reference ed.)

The ISSN for
Trends in ecology & evolution (Reference ed.)
is 0968-0012

My guess is that the publisher has printed the incorrect ISSN on the pieces,
but don't really know that without pieces in hand.
